Cambelts

It’s really important to have your cambelt checked annually as if you don’t get it replaced when required, it could cost you a lot of money in engine repairs. If you’ve noticed a lack of power in your engine or slow pick-up, it could be a sign that your cambelt has stretched. If it snaps, it will cause very expensive damage to your engine. We have the equipment and experience to check and if necessary, replace your cambelt. Don’t delay, call Leeds MOTs today.

What does the cambelt do?

The cambelt synchronises the rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft so that the engine valves open and close at the right times.

How often should I change my cambelt?

Most manufacturers recommend a cambelt change every 40,000 to 60,000 miles or roughly every 5 years.

Leeds MOTs are proud DVSA members and fit only manufacturer-approved parts which are covered by a 12-month warranty.
